The mood here balances relaxed and lively — a steady flow of guests savoring generous portions of seafood with the unhurried pleasure of good company. Whether it’s a casual weekday lunch or a bustling weekend dinner, the pace never feels rushed but rather rooted in the authentic enjoyment of each bite and each story exchanged across tables. The staff carry an easy familiarity, adding to the friendly neighborhood vibe without feeling overly formal or staged.

What truly anchors the experience at Mariscos Corona is the food. It’s a celebration of the ocean’s bounty, filtered through Mexican culinary traditions that show up in everything from vibrant ceviche trays to the hearty, playful indulgence of Diabla fries smothered in cheese and tender shrimp. Dishes arrive with generous portions that invite sharing, encouraging diners to explore a variety of flavors—from fiery, tangy sauces to comforting, familiar staples like tacos and huaraches with a seafood twist. The freshness of ingredients is immediately apparent, a detail that shines through in every forkful and makes return visits feel rewarding.

While this spot leans into the casual side of dining, it’s far from casual in feeling. There is a sense of ritual and care—not just in the food but in the way guests are welcomed, orders are carefully managed despite bustling hours, and the small touches make a meal more than just eating. It’s a place where locals linger, families gather, and seafood lovers find a welcoming refuge filled with hearty plates and honest flavors.

We found this seafood restaurant during a recent visit to LA. The food is amazing! Everything was fresh and delicious. We would like to live in LA just to visit this place more often. We were a large party, and our server got the order correct, which is appreciated. The only negative is that they don't have beer, but we will definitely be back for the seafood!

IG/TT @eatwkris Mexican seafood in definitely slept on and Mariscos corona on victory blvd in van nuys is my favorite spot that’s got you covered on all types of ceviche and a unique oyster aguachile that is so refreshing and tasty. The star dish is this giant molcajete. It comes with a whole fried red snapper, octopus, bacon wrapped shrimp, and tons of head on shrimp. It’s so good on its own or wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.

The food here is always fresh and delicious. Service depends on the waitress. Dishes can be a bit pricey. We ordered 3 items and our total was $102. I tipped $20 despite bad service. Our waitress never brought us our chips, the food took over 20 mins to be ready and waitress took her time bringing us the check and an another additional 5-7 mins to charge me. Usually we have better service.

I was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes at Mariscos Corona! I’m not sure if I misread the menu, but the appetizer we ordered, which was supposed to be for one, could easily feed 3-4 people. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, and my husband and I especially loved the Diabla fries that’s covered with cheese and shrimp. Great flavors, generous servings, and a cozy atmosphere—we’ll definitely be coming back again! *There’s not a price on the menu but once we got the bill we were genuinely surprised at how decent the price was.

Hands down one of the best Mexican seafood restaurants I have been to. This amazing family owned restaurant is a must try. All the food is delicious. My favorite is the fried talapia plate and the shrimp cocktail. We have been coming here for years and still always sooooooo good!!! Great selection of food. The staff are always so friendly.

Food is so delicious! They also give you a lot of food! Everyone was really nice, only thing I would say is that their place is pretty small so it felt a bit cramped. Also it was really hot in there, maybe better AC needed. But would definitely go back for the food.

We have been clients for 15 years , and I can safely say that this restaurant is one of the best in the valley. The owner who's we've know for these 15 years is am man who not only know how to make great food but also knows when to make things right and doesn't let the ego of his success cloud his judgements. This restaurant is a 10/10 highly recommend
